Becoming aware and mindful of yourself, your environment and others
The majority of the time it can be said that the more aware you are of the dynamics that determine a situation then the more able you will be to deal with it. Most people are functioning on automatic pilot, without realising the impact it is having on their productivity, satisfaction and wellbeing.
This auto pilot is a very costly and dangerous thing. It not only causes loss in effective output it also jeopardise working relationships and ability form personal growth. When there is no personal growth the system become stagnant and bored and it will not be long after that new exciting workplaces are sort.
From the employee perspective being mindful of what is happening around you will help you to control your emotional wellbeing and thus have a direct and measurable impact upon your physical health. You will be able to react quicker and more appropriately to situations that present themselves and in doing so enable further self growth, satisfaction and general life balance.
Most stressful and conflict causing situations reach a breaking point because the individuals and or organisations involved are unaware of the problem developing.
It is much more preferable to stop a leak in a dame then to try and plug it once it has broken through the protective barriers. Research has shown that when we are not paying attention to specific things, massive changes can happen in our visual field and we are completely unaware of them.
